I’m Jewel McFadden, founder of TRVLBG. Thank you for stopping by.

I have been lucky enough to traverse 50+ countries over 6 continents. Travel is transformative and I am grateful to have seen so much.

Yet before each trip, I found myself running through a list of anxiety-inducing questions:

• Am I safe to travel here with my partner?

• How does this country view Black people?

• How does this country treat women?

My intersecting identities were never adequately addressed in countless videos, forums, and travel guides I consumed over the decades.

Hence, TRVLBG.

Traveling While Black & Gay.

While not a cure-all, we hope to bridge a necessary gap in the travel landscape.

TRVLBG provides critical information that we hope makes travelling while Black and Gay the enjoyable experience it should be.
